General
Q1. Where can I find detailed information on the HP Monitored Power Distribution Units?
A1. The HP Monitored Power Distribution Units QuickSpecs include descriptions of all models of the PDUs and an extensive list of other detailed product information and options.
Q2. What is included with the PDU?
A2. Each model includes the PDU with attached power cords, mounting brackets, cable retention ties, free management software and documentation.
Q3. What racks do these PDUs work in?
A3. The HP Monitored PDU full rack vertical mount models are optimized for the HP 10000 and 10KG2 series of racks (36U and taller). The half rack vertical mount models are optimized for the HP 1000 and 10KG2 series of racks (22U and taller).
Q4. What type of outlet receptacles are on the PDUs?
A4. Full rack vertical mount models (SXXXX) - Single feed models have 1 column of receptacles, with 3 × C19's and 36 × C13's (39 total). Dual feed models have 2 columns of receptacles, with 3 × C19's and 36 × C13's in each column (78 total).

Half rack vertical mount models (SXXX) - 3 phase PDUs: 1 column with 12 × C19's 1Phase PDUs: 1 column with 24 × C13's and 3 × C19's
Q5. What do the model numbers mean?
A5. SXXXX = full rack (36U to 47U racks) vertical mount models

- First digit: single or dual input;
- Second digit: single phase or three phase; and
- Last two digits: current rating

Examples:
  • S1140: Full rack vertical mount, single input, single phase, 40 amp monitored PDU
  • S2316: Full rack vertical mount; dual input, three phase, 16 amp monitored PDU

SXXX = Half rack vertical mount models

- First digit: single phase or three phase; and
- Last two digits: current rating

Example:
  • S348: Half rack vertical mount, three phase, 48 amp monitored PDU
Installation
Q1. How and where does this PDU mount in the HP 10000 and 10kG2 series racks
A1. The PDU mounts in the back of the rack, on either side. Mounting brackets and hardware are included with the PDU. In addition, the PDU may be configured with the power cords at the bottom or top of the rack (the power monitoring display in the middle of the PDU is reversible to accommodate this).
Q2. May I connect more than one of these PDUs together?
A2. Two single feed PDUs may be daisy chained & communicate together. However, no daisy chaining of dual feed PDU models is supported.
Q3. Do these PDUs have attached power cords/plugs?
A3. Yes, all models of these PDUs have attached power cords and plugs, but careful consideration should be taken to insure you have the correct power outlet receptacles installed in your data center to accommodate these unique plugs. Please see the QuickSpecs for the specific input power cords for each model.
Options
Q1. Are equipment jumper cables included with these PDUs?
A1. No, optional equipment jumper power cords (used to connect your equipment to the PDU) are required, and are available.
Monitoring
Q1. What readings are provided via the power monitoring display?
A1. Local readings via the display include the following:
  • Current (amps) per breaker
  • Overload
  • Load warning
Q2. What readings are not provided with these PDUs?
A2. The following readings are not provided:
  • No individual outlet control is supported
  • No environmental monitoring (temperature and humidity) is supported
  • No error codes
Q3. How can the PDU be remotely monitored and what readings are provided?
A3. Remote monitoring is accomplished with the PDU Management Module (sku: AF400A). The readings will be the same as local display.

Q1. What is the warranty on this product?
A1. All HP power products are supported with a worldwide limited warranty featuring 3 years of parts, labor, and on-site service.
Q2. What service offerings are available?
A2. Care Pack services provide a range of life cycle support options that let you choose the service levels that meet your business requirements, from basic to mission-critical. A full range of HP Care Pack hardware and software services are available including:
