Q1. What IOS firmware is running on the Catalyst Blade Switch 3020?
A1. The product ships with the Cisco enhanced LAN Base IOS image.
Q2. How are firmware updates handled?
A2. IOS Firmware/software updates will be available on the HP website. Cisco will also make the firmware available on their website to authorized users, consistent with other Cisco Catalyst switches.
Q3. If I use CiscoWorks to update my Cisco firmware, will the Catalyst Blade Switch 3020 also participate in the update process?
A3. Yes, the Catalyst Blade Switch 3020 is supported by CiscoWorks. Therefore, CiscoWorks can be used to download firmware images to Catalyst Blade Switch 3020.
Q4. Can I mix and match the GbE2c Switch and the Catalyst Blade Switch 3020 in the same enclosure?
A4. Each redundant bay pair in a c-Class enclosure must contain switches from the same vendor. You can utilize another redundant bay pair for another vendor switch or network device.
Q5. Does this switch support Layer 3 IP Routing?
A5. No, today the Catalyst Blade Switch 3020 is a Layer 2+ switch which recognizes many layer 3 functions, but not IP routing.

A1. There are 4 Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) ports on the switch. An SFP port is a media independent port which supports fiber SFP modules. These modules slide into an SFP port so that customers can use fiber connectivity.

A2. The Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3020 Limited Warranty includes 1 year Parts, 1 year Labor, 1-year on-site support and 3-years software updates.
