Virtual Connect simplifies your network and makes your data center change-ready. Reduce cables without adding switches to manage. Cleanly separate the server enclosure from the SAN. Add, move, & replace servers fast without affecting your SANs. Selectively aggregate multiple server FC HBA ports (QLogic/Emulex) on a FC uplink using NPIV. Connect enclosure to Brocade, Cisco, McData, or QLogic data center FC switches. Doesn’t appear as a switch to the FC fabric.

What's new

Introducing the HP 8Gb Virtual Connect 20-Port Fibre Channel module for c-Class servers. With Server Side NPIV for Virtual Machines which provides “any-to-any” provisioning between storage and virtual machines on server blades.

  • Provision storage resources on a per-virtual-machine basis -- up to 128 per server blade -- even if the virtual server is re-allocated within the BladeSystem.
  • Manage virtual servers independently of underlying hardware configuration.
  • Save costs by expanding the reach of a single HBA.

Ideal environment

Ideal for...

Customers with large complex SANs or anyone who wants to simplify their SAN.
