The GbE2c Layer 2/3 Ethernet Blade Switch supports SNMP v1, v2 and v3 extensions as well as CLI, RMON, and Web-based Management tools including Secure HTTP (HTTPS). |

Since the GbE2 series of switches should always be installed in pairs, they utilize two internal cross-connects offering almost instantaneous fail-over protection in the case of a link failure. |

The GbE2c Layer 2/3 Ethernet Blade Switch has 5 RJ-45 uplinks that are fully operational out of the box. There are 4 SFP cages that when populated, over-ride 4 of the 5 RJ-45 ports. Purchase the Fiber SFP module kit (PN440627-B21) separately to enable the fiber option.

Can I use any brand of Fiber SFP module? |

No. Only fiber SFP modules purchased though HP (PN440627-B21) will work with this switch. Each SFP module kit contains two SX Fiber SFPs. A maximum of two kits can be used per switch. |

Yes, the GbE2c and the GbE2c Layer 2/3 Ethernet Blade Switch are totally compatible and will interoperate seamlessly. Both switches can run the latest version 2.0 software and share the same features, however the GbE2c will not provide Layer 3 routing.
