HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager (VCEM) simplifies the management of HP BladeSystem environments that use Virtual Connect to control LAN and SAN connectivity (Virtual Connect domains), helping organizations increase productivity, respond faster to changing workload demands, and reduce operating costs.

Built on the Virtual Connect and Onboard Administrator architectures integrated into every BladeSystem c-Class enclosure, VCEM provides a central console to perform efficient administration of LAN and SAN addresses, group-based configuration management, plus the rapid assignment, movement and failover of server-to-network connections and their workloads for 200 Connect domains (up to 800 BladeSystem enclosures and 12,800 blade servers).

Together, Virtual Connect and Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager create a change-ready infrastructure that enables system administrators to add, replace and recover servers across the datacenter in minutes without impacting LAN and SAN availability. This flexible change-ready infrastructure also provides foundation capabilities for the logical server management delivered with HP Insight Dynamics-VSE and HP Insight Orchestration Software.

What's new

HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager v1.30 is an update to VCEM v1.20 that adds support for the latest Virtual Connect hardware and functionality delivered with Virtual Connect firmware v2.10, which includes:
  • Management of Virtual Connect Ethernet multi-enclosure domains – Multi enclosure domains support up to 4 interconnected BladeSystem c-Class enclosures per Virtual Connect domain
  • Support for the HP Virtual Connect 8Gb 24-Port Fibre Channel module for BladeSystem c-Class.
  • Number of formally supported Virtual Connect domains per VCEM console extended to 200. Used with Virtual Connect multi-enclosure domain configurations, VCEM now supports up to 800 BladeSystem enclosures and 12,800 blade servers
  • VCEM v1.30 updates an existing installation of VCEM v1.20 and is available only as a web-download.
