| Q1. |
What is the Fibre Channel Pass-Thru Module? |
| A1. |
The Fibre Channel Pass-Thru Module is a sixteen port SAN IO pass-through interconnect device that offers a one-to-one direct link between each BladeSystem server and a SAN device such as a Switches, Directors, or SAN controllers. It is used when a data center already has an existing external storage network to pass SAN IO from the server blades. |

| Q2. |

| A2. |
No. Since each installation is different, cables are not included and must be purchased separately.

| Q3. |
Why does HP recommend that I purchase two Fibre Channel Pass-Thru Modules? |
| A3. |
BladeSystem is designed for high availability. Each server blade FC HBA features two ports providing redundant paths to the SAN. To utilize the second port on each FC HBA, multi-path software should be used on the server blade and a second Fibre Channel Pass-Thru IO module should be installed into the enclosure IO bay. Together, these components provide redundant connection to the SAN.
