The QMH2562 is a PCI Express based 8Gb Fibre Channel mezzanine card for the HP c-Class BladeSystem that delivers twice the data throughput as the previous generation 4Gb mezzanine card. It is optimized for virtualization, low power usage, management, security, reliability, availability and serviceability. While providing leading edge 8Gb performance, it is also backward compatible with 4Gb and 2Gb Fibre Channel speeds.

The QMH2562 is a PCI Express to 8Gb Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter (HBA) designed for HP c-Class BladeSystem. The QMH2562 is backward compatible with 4-Gbps and 2-Gbps FC speeds and is optimized to exceed the business requirements of next generation data center including virtualization, power, RAS, Security and Manageability.
Virtual Optimized
- The QMH2562 allows multiple logical (virtual) connections to share the same physical port. Each logical connection has its own resources and the ability to be managed independently. The 81QPCI Express HBA supports 256 queue pairs, PCI Requestor IDs (RIDs), Function Level Reset (FLR), and Quality of Service (QoS)
Power Optimized
- The QMH2562 takes advantage of the QLogic StarPower technology ensuring a power efficient HBA. QLogic’s StarPower technology offers features such as power and bandwidth optimized intelligent PCIe link training, low-power switching power supplies, and thermally efficient layout requiring lower airflows.
Security Optimized
- The QMH2562 enables SAN-level authentication, fabric-level isolation, and end-to-end data integrity. Features include; authentication through FC-SP, data integrity through T10 CRC and access control in virtualized environments.
RAS Optimized
- The QMH2562 Includes Overlapping Protection Domains (OPD) extended for control and data paths, extension of hardware-assisted troubleshooting, and data integrity capabilities.

Ideal for...
The same target market as c-Class BladeSystem
Virtual environments
- Supports virtualized servers for overall effective server utilization
- Allows multiple logical (virtual) connections to share the same physical ports
- 256 queue pairs for intensive virtualization
- Prioritization of queues prevents conflicts between multiple queues
Dense compute nodes (multi-core processing & blades)
- 2X throughput of 4Gb
- Reduces response time of mission critical Datacenter applications and backup windows
