The ProLiant BL p-Class interconnect switch kits offer fully redundant Ethernet network adapter signal consolidation for customers who demand advanced network functionality and unparalleled investment protection in an extremely user friendly design. Features include:
- Consolidation of up to thirty-two auto-sensing NICs per server blade enclosure (up to 4 NICs per server).
- Uplink options available for either copper (10/100/1000T) or fiber (1000SX) networks.
- Full end-to-end redundancy including front mounting, hot-plug switches that can be removed and replaced without need to cable/recable network connections.
- Front panel Ethernet ports for local switch administration or additional bandwidth to the network backbone.
- Redundant internal Ethernet crosslinks for switch-to-switch communications and advanced failover scenarios.
- Extensive set of management capabilities including web-based, console, scriptable command line, Telnet, SSH, TFTP, XModem/ZModem, SNMP, broad list of supported MIBs, and more.
- Front panel LED annunciation panel per switch providing individual link speed and activity for every port.
- Compatible with any combination of ProLiant p-Class server blades.
- Support for all types of ProLiant NIC teaming
In addition, the GbE2 Kits offer the added benefits of:
- Twelve Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) external ports for connection to the external network.
- Unparalleled investment protection! Layer 2+3 support means faster switching, more throughput and lower equipment costs.
- Ability to store redundant switch operating systems and configuration images in firmware.
- Additional network protocol support including interoperability with Cisco's PVST+, 9k jumbo frames, redundant syslog servers, RADIUS user authentication and authorization security, and more.
- Pass-through of up to sixteen ProLiant BL20p series or thirty-two BL30p series Fibre Channel storage signals via the optional GbE2 Storage Connectivity Kit.
