Overview

The Emulex-based FC mezzanine cards offer highly integrated 2Gb/s Fibre Channel HBAs for use in HP p-Class BladeSystem. The cards help IT organizations with rapid deployment of BladeSystem into existing SAN infrastructure.

Fully compatible with the Emulex LP1050 HBA, this highly integrated 2gb/s Fibre channel solution delivers exceptional performance through the use of Thor FC controller. Emulex Windows and Linux drivers deliver confidence in interoperability with most trusted names in SAN infrastructure hardware, and software.

These cards plug into the expansion bus of the HP BladeSystem which provides a "zero footprint" Fibre Channel connection solution to unlock the value of Fibre Channel SAN solutions. They deliver exceptional performance through the use of the Emulex "Thor" native PCI-X Fibre Channel controller with integrated processors and high performance unified Quad Data Rate SRAM. The PCI-X 133 compatibility maximizes bandwidth in the p-Class BladeSystem.

The Emulex-based FC mezzanine cards support a sustained transaction-processing rate of 70,000 IOPS per channel for 2KB blocks. The Emulex-based FC mezzanine cards leverage Emulex's exclusive firmware upgradeable architecture. This feature allows adding features and functionality to meet new standards, which helps to "future-proof" your Fibre Channel investment. Firmware updates can normally be done without the need to reboot the host, minimizing disruptive downtime in high-availability environments.

With The Emulex-based FC mezzanine cards, drivers may be updated independently from the firmware, simplifying qualification and reducing SAN management costs.

Award- winning Emulex Fibre Channel technology is the most broadly tested and certified in the storage industry.

The Emulex-based FC mezzanine cards are ideal for highly available SAN environments requiring the highest reliability, and availability SAN infrastructure. They feature Emulex's exclusive architecture to deliver the highest performance in the industry for IOPS, and mixed (disk and tape) workloads. Emulex architecture also enables firmware upgrades independent of the driver, so IT professionals can remotely upgrade firmware on all Emulex-based mezzanine cards and Emulex HBAs without downtime.
