| Q1. |
How many PCI cards can the PCI Expansion blade hold? |
| A1. |
Each PCI Expansion Blade can be attached to a single c-Class server blade in an adjacent enclosure device bay. Each PCI Expansion Blade can hold either:
- one or two PCI-X cards, or
- one or two PCI-e cards
but, the PCI Expansion Blade cannot hold one PCI-X and one PCI-e card.

| Q2. |
What are the constraints associated with the PCI Expansion Blade? |
| A2. |
Installed PCI-X cards must use less than 25 watts per card. Installed PCIe cards must use less than 75 watts per PCIe slot, or a single PCIe card can use up to 150 watts, with a special power connector enabled on the PCI Expansion blade. |
| Q3. |
What PCI-X bus speeds are supported on the PCI Expansion Blade? What types of PCI-X cards are feasible? |
| A3. |
PCI-X cards are feasible with the following specifications:
- PCI-X cards with a bus speed of 133Mhz
- PCI-X cards can be 3.3v or "universal" cards
|
| Q4. |
What types of PCIe cards can be used with the PCI Expansion Blade? |
| A4. |
PCIe cards with an x8, x4, or x1 connectors can be used, but the maximum bandwidth is limited to a single x4 PCI bus. |
