Introducing the HP BladeSystem Matrix

June 2nd, 2009 Announcement

Introducing the HP BL465c G6 , BL495c G6 , and the BL685c G6 – the first server blades with the Six-Core AMD Opteron ™ Processors. HP is taking advantage of the unique capabilities of these new six-core processors which use the existing socket design, provide improved performance and a 21% reduction in power consumption, and improved virtualization capabilities.

Speaking of virtualization, HP continues to innovate to help simplify virtualized infrastructures.

HP BladeSystem Matrix
HP BladeSystem Matrix - A cloud infrastructure in a box that brings the economics, scalability and response times of the cloud to applications across for both physical and virtual resources across the data center.

If you’re not ready to commit to an out of the box solution, HP can still help you build your ultimate virtual infrastructure. Click here to learn more.

HP ProLiant BL685c G6 server blade
HP ProLiant BL685c G6 server blade has double the memory over the previous generation, 32 DIMM sockets support up to 256GB of DDR2 memory, delivering more memory for virtualization and compute intensive application workloads; more VMs per server. It also includes four embedded 10Gb Ethernet ports with HP Virtual Connect Flex-10 technology; providing up to 16 Flex NICs which can each have their bandwidth fine-tuned to match application requirements.

We've also added to our Virtual Connect portfolio of offerings:
Virtual Connect 8Gb 24-Port FC Module
Virtual Connect 8Gb 24-Port FC Module offers more connections at higher bandwidths, with increased server side NPIV support for 255 WWNs, providing even more SAN consolidation. For I/O virtualization, Server-Side NPIV increases the number of VMs supported by one high capacity Virtual Connect module, using bandwidth more efficiently, reducing cost and increasing managability.
Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager v1.30

Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager v1.30 is updated to support the latest platforms and functionality for BladeSystem and Virtual Connect, and extends the number of supported Virtual Connect domains to 200 (up to 800 BladeSystem enclosures when using Virtual Connect multi-enclosure domain stacking). VCEM centralizes the management for Virtual Connect environments, enabling System Admins to work smarter and respond quickly to workload and business demands.
