System Management Homepage |
|
The HP System Management Homepage is a web-based interface
that consolidates and simplifies the management of individual ProLiant
and Integrity servers running Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems.
By aggregating data from HP Insight Management Agents and other management
tools, the System Management Homepage provides a secure and intuitive
interface to review in-depth hardware configuration and status data, performance
metrics, system thresholds and software version control information. The
System Management Homepage can also be used to access the HP Lights-Out
Management processor on ProLiant and Integrity servers.
The System Management Homepage is delivered on the ProLiant Support Pack and the Integrity Support Pack, and can be automatically installed using the SmartStart or Smart Setup server installation and configuration tools. The System Management Homepage can also be extended to meet specific system management requirements by integrating additional HP plug-in management tools that include HP Online Diagnostics, the HP Intelligent Networking Pack and HP Software Version Control Agents.
The System Management Homepage also provides ready-access
to in-depth HP hardware resource data from the industry's leading enterprise
management platforms, including HP OpenView, Microsoft Operations Manager,

| System Management Homepage | Provides a consolidated web-based

displays data populated by a variety of HP plug-in management tools that
includes the HP Insight Management Agents, Version Control Agents, HP Insight
Diagnostics, etc. The user interface of SMH 3.0 and above is compliant to
OV2. The System Management Homepage can be installed automatically and securely using the ProLiant Support Pack or the Integrity Support Pack. |
| Secure Access | Enhanced web-based security incorporates OS-based authentication on Windows and Linux platforms, and utilizes Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and certificate-based trust with Systems Insight Manager. IT administrators can rest assured that only authorized personnel have access to their systems management information. System Management Homepage also includes IP binding and other advanced configuration options to address a broad range of network specific security requirements. The Kerberos feature of SMH allows different hosts and users to authenticate and confirm the identity of each other. SMH also provides the support of IPv6 addresses for both Windows & Linux OS. |
| Fault Management | Prominently displays system fault information instrumented by Insight Management Agents and other HP management tools, with intuitive status icons. |
| Performance Monitoring | Provides access to the Insight Management Agents to set thresholds for disk, CPU, and memory utilization. SMH also provides management data from WBEM providers as well. |
