Key Benefits

The HP Integrity BL860c server blade brings the superior reliability, availability and scalability of HP Integrity servers including support for HP's award winning HP-UX and OpenVMS operating environments to the BladeSystem c-Class.
» Brings unparalleled reliability and availability
» Brings HP Integrity Virtual Server Environment to c-Class
  » Complements BladeSystem c-Class

Brings unparalleled reliability and availability

HP Integrity BL860c server blade enhances reliability making it an ideal platform to host your most demanding mission-critical applications.

  • The HP Integrity BL860c server blade, like all HP Integrity servers, features the Intel Itanium® processors. These innovative processors incorporate advanced implementations of parallelism to address high-end application and demanding technical workloads.
  • The Integrity processors feature Cache Safe Technology that delivers mainframe class availability via virtually eliminating cache errors.
  • Dynamic Processor Resiliency, only available on HP Integrity servers, will de-allocate CPUs, online, any processor that exhibits an unacceptable level of correctable errors.
  • Double chip spare represents a 3x improvement in isolating memory errors over chip kill implementations
  • The BL860c supports the inovative HP zx2 chip set bringing exceptional level of high availability to the CPU subsystem, memory subsystem, and I/O subsystem.

Brings HP Integrity Virtual Server Environment to c-Class

The HP Virtual Server Environment (VSE) for HP Integrity servers helps you achieve a greater return on your IT investments and gives you flexible capacity by optimizing server resource utilization in real time based on business priorities.

  • HP Integrity Virtual Machines is a soft partitioning and virtualization technology that provides operating systems isolation, shared CPU (with sub-CPU granularity), shared I/O, and automatic, dynamic resource allocation.
  • A single HP Integrity server running HP Integrity Virtual Machines can create multiple virtual servers or machines, each with its own "guest" operating system instance with different operating system versions, applications and users.
  • Each virtual machine hosts its own applications in a fully isolated environment. The physical resources of the HP Integrity server are shared among the virtual machines it hosts, based on demand and entitlement.

Complements BladeSystem c-Class

HP Integrity BL860c server blade is designed to work with and compliment other servers in BladeSystem c-Class.

  • Multi-tier applications are enhanced with the addition of Integrity servers to c-Class. As an example, an application's database tier may be more appropriate on a HP-UX Integrity sever with application tiers running on x86 BladeSystem servers.
  • c-Class infrastructure components are supported by the BL860c
  • I/O mezzanine cards as well as hard drives are interchangeable across both Integrity and x86 BladeSystem servers
  • Integrity and ProLiant servers can share the inteconnect modules in the c-Class enclosures
