Q1. What is new in HP BladeSystem Integrated Manager?
A1. HP BladeSystem Integrated Manager is installed automatically with HP SIM . Versions provides support for the new c-Class devices, enabling the user precise management control as well as specific interfaces and consolidation of information from the new c-Class Onboard Administrator management module. Versions delivers users a unified management console to have superior control and command of all their HP BladeSystem components across blade server systems (p-Class and c-Class), business PC desktop blades, and workstation blades.

A2. HP BladeSystem Integrated Manager is a built-in plug-in to HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM), and installs automatically with Insight control DVD. This interface environment in HP SIM is also updated periodically to support the latest available HP BladeSystem components and provide other feature enhancements. A download on www.hp.com/go/bladesystem/ will also be available.

HP BladeSystem Integrated Manager enables users to quickly navigate their HP blades, enclosure infrastructure, racks, and integrated switches, via hierarchical tree views or interactive picture views. Users can configure, deploy, and manage individual or groups of blade systems.

A3. The HP BladeSystem Integrated Manager is a built-in plug-in to HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM), and installs automatically with HP SIM. SIM ships at no additional fee with HP servers and storage, and with HP BladeSystem blade enclosures. It is also available via free download from hp.com at www.hp.com/go/bladesystem/.

A4. No, there is no license fee or licensing required. This is installed automatically with any installation of SIM. HP SIM ships at no additional fee with every HP server and storage and HP BladeSystem server blade enclosures. HP SIM is also available via free download from hp.com at www.hp.com/go/hpsim.
Q5. With HP BladeSystem Integrated Manager in HP SIM, does this mean I won't see my HP blade components in HP SIM's system lists and other HP SIM management pages? In other words, will I have to use this blade management environment to manage my blades?
A5. You are still able to see and manage your HP blades alongside other systems in all of HP SIM's consoles and pages, and this will not change. What this integrated manager provides is an HP BladeSystem-centric access point which is optimized and oriented for navigating blade system components including visualization. It also provides easy access to the tools and tasks used in managing blade system components.

A1. Customers can call 1-800-HP-INVENT (1-800-474-6836) to receive support. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. HP provides warranty support for HP Systems Insight Manager and ProLiant Essentials Software for the first 90 days after installation. Subsequent support calls are provided as part of the ProLiant Essentials Environmental service offer. Part numbers: 1 year normal office hours U8222A/E and 1 year 24x7 cover U8301A/E.
