HP Insight Diagnostics is a proactive server management tool, available in both offline and online versions, which provides diagnostics and troubleshooting capabilities to assist IT administrators in verifying server installations, troubleshooting problems, and performing repair validation.
- HP Insight Diagnostics Offline Edition performs various in-depth system and component testing while the operating system is not running, and is available by launching the SmartStart CD.
- HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition is a web-based application which captures detailed hardware and software system configuration and other related data needed to effectively manage servers in today's challenging environments. It also allows the ability to compare these configurations to form a complete and thorough auditing process for the system. Use of this version removes the need to take the server offline or reboot the server in order to use Insight Diagnostics.

Insight Diagnostics Online Edition replaces the legacy Survey utility, and captures server configuration information. The Online Edition is downloadable as part of the ProLiant Support Pack or as a separate software component from the Software and Driver download pages.
