HP SIM 6.x:
Scalability
- HP 6.x will support monitoring of 5,000 servers
This includes OS instances such as physical servers and virtual machines, but other devices such as iLO and OA are in addition to this. (For this enhancement you will need x64 native and additional memory)
Reporting
- HP SIM 6.x introduces standard reporting that includes tables and graphs for easier access and view of the SIM data
Firmware Updates
- HP SIM integrates with HP SUM, and will provide agent less firmware update distribution for OA and iLO
License Manager
- Many updates to License Manager for better scalability, performance and usability like
- user can retrieve license keys from the supply chain via an XML file that can be imported into LM
- no more cut and paste or manual enter of the key
Heterogeneous support
- HP SIM 6.x provides IPMI support for the ProLiant 100 series and non-HP devices
- The power cycle, power on, and power-off commands are supported
Integration with HP Universal Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
- Import detailed hardware and software data from HP SIM into HP uCMDB on a scheduled basis via new DDM integration module
