    • New ProLiant Servers: ML110 G7, DL120 G7
    • 3PAR Storage Array discovery and identification
    • IDP/IBRIX discovery and identification
    • Matrix enclosure identification

  • Additional Software Support
    • RHEL6 support
    • Oracle 11G
    • Expose ping status for Status Polling
    • Automatic retrieval of SAR field for Contract and Warranty report

HP SIM 6.x:

  • Scalability
      • HP 6.x will support monitoring of 5,000 servers This includes OS instances such as physical servers and virtual machines, but other devices such as iLO and OA are in addition to this. (For this enhancement you will need x64 native and additional memory)

  • Reporting
      • HP SIM 6.x introduces standard reporting that includes tables and graphs for easier access and view of the SIM data

  • Firmware Updates
      • HP SIM integrates with HP SUM, and will provide agent less firmware update distribution for OA and iLO

  • License Manager
      • Many updates to License Manager for better scalability, performance and usability like
        • user can retrieve license keys from the supply chain via an XML file that can be imported into LM
        • no more cut and paste or manual enter of the key

  • Heterogeneous support
      • HP SIM 6.x provides IPMI support for the ProLiant 100 series and non-HP devices
      • The power cycle, power on, and power-off commands are supported

  • Integration with HP Universal Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
      • Import detailed hardware and software data from HP SIM into HP uCMDB on a scheduled basis via new DDM integration module

  • Other changes

     Hotfix Update Kit for HP SIM 6.3 - Linux for x86

    The hotfix update kit contains specific fixes which can ONLY be applied to HP Systems Insight Manager 6.3. Applying the hotfix update kit will not change the version number of HP SIM, but the About Box in HP SIM will indicate the hotfixes have been installed. This kit will only install the appropriate fixes onto the applicable SIM version.

    Managed Systems Description
    HP Enablement Kit for Linux on Integrity Servers Management CD Package WBEM provides discovery, system, and reporting data to HP SIM. WBEM providers are more robust than SNMP.

    -  Support Pack for Red Hat Enterprise Linux  4
    -  Support Pack for Red Hat Enterprise Linux  5
    -  Support Pack for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
    -  Support Pack for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
    		ProLiant Support Pack (PSP) is an advanced software delivery tool that can be distributed via VCRM to a designated server(s) and then silently integrated into the server environment. It interacts with a version control agent during the installation. The PSP can also be copied directly to the managed system and installed from that location. It contains the HP Management Agents and associated drivers for HP ProLiant servers which allow it to be managed by HP SIM.
