IMPORTANT NOTICE : HP is glad to announce that a new version of the HP Service Essentials Remote Support Pack A.05.10 has been released on September 2, 2008 and is now available to you when installing HP SIM 5.2 or Higher. If you have already installed the Remote Support Pack as part of your HP SIM 5.1 (or Higher) installation and configured the Remote Support Software Manager, you will automatically be notified or receive the new components securely according to the option you selected.
This new release of the Remote Support Pack provides:
- Full monitoring coverage for servers, storage and newly to network devices.
- Comprehensive proactive services for entitled customers with support contracts on servers, storage or network devices. Please contact your HP Account Support team for more details.
- Please see the Release Notes for more details.
Review the Readme file prior to download and install for most up-to-date information. Registration will be required prior to download.

Hot Fix Update Kit for HP SIM 5.2 - MS Windows |

The hotfix update kit contains specific fixes which can ONLY be applied to HP Systems Insight Manager 5.2, HP SIM 5.2 with SP1 or HP SIM 5.2 with SP2. Applying the hotfix will not change the version number of HP SIM, but the About Box in HP SIM will indicate the hotfix has been installed. This kit includes the following fix:
- Software Status Polling task to retrieve status from the Version Control Agent (VCA) and correctly display the software status in the system list (for 5.2).
- ESXi U2 support (for 5.2, 5.2 SP1, and 5.2 SP2)
- Fix for a problem applying Insight Dynamics - VSE licenses when Remote Deployment Pack (RDP) is also in use (for 5.2, 5.2 SP1, and 5.2 SP2). Systems added via RDP could have improper system subtypes. The fix protects from that condition.

SSH
|
Allows the HP SIM Distributed Task Facility to securely log-into managed systems to perform a task. HP SIM leverages Secure Shell (SSH) to enable secure execution of OS commands, scripts, batch files, and applications on remote systems running Windows, Linux, or HP-UX. You may optionally install and configure SSH as an agent on managed systems to allow remote script execution from HP SIM. |
| WMIMapper |
Convert WBEM queries into WMI and WMI responses into WBEM. HP SIM uses the WBEM protocol for discovery and data collection from WBEM providers on HP-UX systems. Since Windows systems use WMI, the WMI Mapper is used to convert WBEM queries into WMI and WMI responses into WBEM. The WMI Mapper is automatically installed locally when the CMS is installed on a Windows system. However, an installation of the WMI Mapper is needed on a Windows system when Windows machines are being managed from an HP-UX or Linux version of HP SIM. The WMI Mapper can be installed on a Windows HP SIM server platform or another Windows system on the network. |

The Version Control Repository Manager automatically downloads and catalogues BIOS, driver, and agent updates for ProLiant servers running Windows or Linux operating systems. The VCRM installs on a Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003 systems. |
ProLiant Support Packs
|
ProLiant Support Pack (PSP) is an advanced software delivery tool that can be distributed via VCRM to a designated server(s) and then silently integrated into the server environment. It interacts with a version control agent during the installation. The PSP can also be copied directly to the managed system and installed from that location. It contains the HP Management Agents and associated drivers for HP ProLiant servers which allows it to be managed by HP SIM. |

Available for HP SIM 5.1 and 5.2!
This new A.05.10 kit is intended for customers who operate their Central Management System (CMS) using Microsoft Windows 2003 Server with Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean or Japanese. For those users, please do not install the HP Service Essentials Remote Support Pack as an option of the HP SIM installation. Rather, this installation package should be installed on the CMS after HP SIM installation.
Important: Proactive services are supported by this Kit, however will need to be installed by an HP Account team with specific restrictions.
