Reduced travel costs

You have the freedom of full control over your ProLiant servers anytime, anywhere with iLO 2

  • With iLO 2 remote control, everything you can do if you are physically at the server, you can do remotely regardless of server or operating system condition
  • With full remote control of system console, power and removable storage, iLO 2 and ProLiant servers allow you to eliminate more physical trips to data center or remote site servers than other remote control solution

Improved efficiency & system uptime

  • Integrated Lights-Out 2 Advanced shortens the time to complete deployment, administrative and maintenance tasks on remote systems. Virtual KVM gives users responsive, continuous control of keyboard, mouse and video on systems in nearby datacenters and branch locations whether or not they are operating.
  • Virtual media further shortens deployment and update tasks by enabling local client media (floppy, CD or USB key) or network based images to be connected as virtual media on remote host servers.
  • The Integrated Remote Console speeds up tasks by consolidating control of Virtual KVM, Virtual Power and Virtual Media on a single screen.

Reliable security

You do not have to compromise security to remotely manage HP ProLiant servers-- with iLO you can have both

  • iLO 2 Advanced integrates with enterprise-class directory services to provide secure, scalable and cost effective user management using Microsoft Active Directory and Novell eDirectory.
  • User administration is more scalable and access is more secure by eliminating the need to manage shared passwords and user lists on individual iLO 2 processors.
  • Two-factor authentication provides advanced security restricting iLO 2 access to administrators with Smart Cards devices
  • Like its predecessor, iLO, all communications over a LAN or the Internet are encrypted and secured by RC4, SSL or Secure Shell (SSH).

Fits your environment

Your ProLiant remote management solution fits your unique and changing IT environment with iLO

  • iLO 2 Advanced configuration and operation is scalable whether you are managing a single server or many different ProLiant servers in data centers or remote sites
  • Shared or dedicated network connectivity gives you a choice of access methods depending upon your network capacity and budget
  • With multiple interfaces iLO Advanced can be used on a standalone basis from a standard browser or Secure Shell, SMASH Command Line Protocol based client
