Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) Advanced, provides comprehensive Lights-Out remote management capabilities for ProLiant servers. iLO 2 Advanced gives you the freedom to enable full remote control of your ProLiant servers without compromise for routine and emergency situations. Everything you can do if you are physically at the server, you can do remotely anytime regardless of server or operating system condition.
With dramatic new remote console performance improvements, iLO 2 is not just a tool of last resort for emergencies. It is also suitable for day-to-day routine administration giving you a single tool for any occasion. iLO 2 Advanced extends iLO 2 Standard capabilities with full remote control of system KVM (remote console) regardless of server status and the ability to remotely update server software and firmware over a network. iLO 2 Advanced also allows you to secure your remote management environment with enterprise security.
iLO 2 Advanced is available on new generation HP ProLiant ML/DL 300 and 500 Series servers by purchasing the HP ProLiant Essentials Integrated Lights-Out Advanced Pack, Insight Control Environment Pack or iLO Power Management Pack. The Advanced Pack provides a license key to activate powerful remote management features to remotely deploy, troubleshoot and maintain ProLiant servers anywhere, anytime from a standard web browser, command line or script.

In HP Integrated Lights-Out 2 firmware v1.30 and v1.35, iLO Advanced license keys activate the following new remote control capabilities.
Performance
- Integrated Remote Console now supports remote console collaboration by up to four users and enhanced system diagnostics using console replay of the last fault and boot sequences.
- Unique Virtual Folders and bootable Virtual DVD features allow users more choices for remote deployment and update of software and firmware.
- Power capping settings allow you to control system thermal output in your data center from iLO 2 browser, CLI, script or HP Insight Power Manager.
- HP iLO 2 High Performance Mouse Driver enhances remote console mouse performance for servers running Linux operating systems - obtain the driver from the HP HP Support and Drivers site or SmartStart 7.7 or greater.
Security
- After logging into HP Systems Insight Manager, automatically login to any connected iLO 2 management processor using HP SIM role based authentication.
- Enhanced user audit support with increased logging options for failed login attempts and logging of client machine names.
- Authenticate direct group members as well as members of nested groups within Active Directory.
- Use FIPS 197 compliant AES to encrypt of browser, SSH, XML interfaces.
Options
