How To Distribute Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2

Applies to: Releases 2.00 or greater

To create a job that distributes Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2:

1. On the Deployment Server, create a directory for the install package. For example, .\lib\software\Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2.
2. Download the install package into the new directory.
3. Create a new job. For example, Install Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2.
a. Add a Distribute Software task with the following options:

Field Value

Name The install package downloaded in step 2

Additional command-line switches /v /qn

4. Execute the new job on the managed server(s).

IMPORTANT: IIS and ASP.NET must be installed on the managed server(s) in order for the install to be unattended.
