SMS Inventory Tool for HP ProLiant and Integrity Update

Due to a recent HP certificate change, ALL ITHU USERS will need to install either ITHU version 1.3.7 which will include the new HP Certificate, or install the Certificate Update to SMS Inventory Tool for HP ProLiant and Integrity Update tool version 3.0 to replace just the certificate while maintaining customized settings. These releases are now available from the Download software link above. Customers who do not update ITHU will not receive any component or PSPs / ISPs updates after the HP certificate change.

The SMS Inventory Tool for HP ProLiant and Integrity Update (ITHU) enables the use of Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 (SMS 2003) with SP1, SP2, or SP3 for management and distribution of HP ProLiant and Integrity server system software, firmware, and complete support packs. The SMS Inventory Tool allows customers that are using SMS 2003 to manage HP server inventory and software with the tool they also use to manage operating system software updates.

Customers using SMS will appreciate the intuitive integration of the HP server software catalog within the SMS management structure. The ITHU inventory tool supports all SMS features, including server inventory with adjustable scope, such as filtering by server model or Windows version. It allows remote scanning of HP server software configurations and reporting of the results via standard template reports. The tool also enables management and distribution of complete Support Packs or individual components (drivers, ROM, and software agents) to defined collections of servers. All data is presented through the SMS interface.

HP provides limited support for ITHU and SMS 2003. HP has discontinued development and feature updates for ITHU. HP will continue to provide certificate updates as needed.

System support for ITHU

• ITHU supports the PSPs and ISPs that are available in the HP Catalog
• The Collect Utility supports up to PSP 7.9 for ProLiant servers
• The Collect Utility supports up to ISP 5.2 for integrity servers
• The Collect Utility is not supported with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007

SMS Support

The SMS Inventory Tool for HP ProLiant Update has been developed and tested for use with Microsoft SMS 2003 SP1, SP2, and SP3. Previous versions of SMS must be updated and all applicable Microsoft hot fixes must be applied to integrate properly with the inventory tool.
