Answers

What's new
Q1. What is the NC364T?
A1. The NC364T is a quad-port 10/100/1000 Mb/s PCI Express adapter that has been designed, developed, and tested to meet the needs of ProLiant server customers. The NC364T complies to the PCI Express 1.0a standard, and ships with support for major network operating systems.
Q2. How is the NC364T different from other NC-series network adapters?
A2. The NC364T features four 10/100/1000T ports on a single PCI Express adapter ideal for connection-dense environments and slot-constrained ProLiant servers.
Q3. What is the theoretical maximum throughput of the NC364T?
A3. Each port on the NC364T is capable of 1000Mb/s. This yields a theoretical maximum throughput of 4000 Mb/s providing the highest bandwidth available in an NC-series PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet adapter.
Q4. What network controller is used in the NC364T?
A4. The NC364T utilizes two Intel 82571EB controllers.
General
Q1. Can the NC364T be teamed with other NC-series Ethernet adapters, either Intel or Broadcom network processor based?
A1. Yes, the NC364T can be teamed with other NC-series Ethernet adapters. The ProLiant teaming software is common across the NC-series of Ethernet adapters. HP has further developed an intermediate driver that allows "heterogeneous teaming". Heterogeneous teaming permits both Intel and Broadcom network processor based adapters within the same team.
Q2. Can the NC364T be used in PCI Express slots other than x4?
A2. Yes, The NC364T complies with the PCI Express 1.0a standard meaning that it can be used in x4, x8, and x16 PCI Express slots.
Q3. What management solutions are available for the NC364T?
A3. The NC364T supports the HP Insight software, including:
  • SmartStart - intelligent integration tool that simplifies the process of installing and configuring ProLiant systems.
  • HP Systems Insight Manager - comprehensive systems management tools designed to provide proactive and industry leading predicative fault and performance management.
  • Intelligent Network Pack - optional software package allowing ProLiant servers to intelligently change the network path to achieve maximum reliability and performance and also reduce virus threats before they spread to the entire network.
Q4. What is the warranty of the NC364T?
A4. The NC364T carries the greater of a one-year limited warranty or the remaining warranty of the HP product in which it is installed (to a maximum three-year, limited warranty).
Q5. What is the form factor of the NC364T card?
A5. The NC364T is a low-profile card supporting both full height and half height PCI Express slots. A full height bracket is pre-installed on the card with the half height bracket in the box. A quick install card includes instructions on how to change brackets (if needed). This versatility combined with support for x4 through x16 PCI slots permits the NC346T to be installed in a very wide variety of server slots.
