Overview

The NC522m is a dual port, IEEE 10GBase-KR 10 Gigabit Ethernet network adapter for ProLiant c-Class BladeSystem based on the NetXen 3031 controller. For customers who have come to rely on NetXen performance, the NC522m is supported on the HP Virtual Connect Flex-10 10Gb Ethernet Module for BladeSystem c-Class to enable Flex-10 on most Proliant blade servers. The NC522m ships with support for VLAN tagging, QoS, 9K jumbo frames, teaming (bonding), Receive Side Scaling (RSS) and PXE.
The NC522m adapter is supported in all ProLiant c-Class server type II (x8 PCI Express) mezzanine slots.

What’s New

Introducing the NC522m, a dual port, Flex 10 enabled 10 Gigabit Ethernet network adapter for ProLiant c-Class BladeSystem.
  • Supported on the HP Virtual Connect Flex-10 10Gb Ethernet Module for BladeSystem c-Class providing a complete 10GBase-KR Virtual Connect solution.
  • Dual 10GbE ports provide up to 40Gb full duplex operation.
  • Based on the NetXen 3031 controller.

Ideal environment

Ideal for...

Virtualized server applications:
  • Define up to 4 independent physical function NICs per port.
  • Change bandwidth per NIC to adapt for VMotion and network requirements.
  • Manage each independent NIC as part of a server profile.

Customers with high performance networks who have standardized on NetXen network controllers:
  • 20,0000 Mbps bandwidth per port full duplex facilitates consolidation of workloads and applications into fewer and fewer servers.
  • Applications such as database clusters, grid systems, server I/O and fabric consolidation, VoIP, and VOD.

Data Center consolidation:
  • Reduce the number of upstream ports, reduce cables and maintenance.
  • Fewer ports equate to less power and cooling, better equipment utilization.
