Dual ports-- each port has a PCI-X 64-bit/133MHz interface

The dual ports on the NC7170 allow for greater port density and are particularly useful on ProLiant servers that are slot-constrained. Each port supports a full 64-bit/133MHz interface for the utmost in throughput and scalability to eliminate network bottlenecks.

10/100/1000Mbps speeds over twisted-pair cabling

As a copper Gigabit server adapter, the NC7170 allows customers to protect their legacy networking investment by running at either 10Mbps Ethernet or 100Mbps Fast Ethernet while simultaneously future-proofing their networks for 1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet. The NC7170 runs over Category 5 (or better) twisted-pair cabling for cost-effective implementations up to a maximum distance of 100 meters (328 feet).

128KB onboard memory

With 128KB onboard memory the NC7170 will enhance server performance with the support of load balancing teams and provide increased reliability through network fault tolerance.
