The QMH4062 represents the most advanced iSCSI initiator technology available for blades. This dual port, IPv6 compliant Gigabit Ethernet iSCSI initiator mezzanine is optimized for high performance iSCSI traffic from an HP BladeSystem c-Class ProLiant server. It is an alternative to less integrated Ethernet iSCSI offerings and often more expensive non TCP/IP implementations.
Designed for ultimate performance, the QMH4062 provides offloading of iSCSI and TCP/IP traffic. The QMH4062 supports VMware allowing users the flexibility of ESX 3.5 and ESXi 3.5 host booting from an iSCSI SAN. The QMH4062 is IPv6 compliant card and can provide a c-Class end-to-end IPv6 solution when using either the Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3120 with IPv6 upgrade option or the Ethernet Pass-Thru.

Ideal for...
Performance optimized iSCSI adapter
- The QMH4062 provides TCP/IP and iSCSI offloading reducing the processing, interrupts, and bus access to the host server.
- The QMH4062 is very efficient by nearly eliminating the server CPU processing needed for TCP/IP and iSCSI. This delivers an adapter with initialization and server processor performance as good as DAS and Fibre Channel SANs, dependant on the application and system configuration.
- Dual ports provide a transfer rate of 4,000 Mps full duplex bandwidth improving network response time and removing bottlenecks across the entire network
Corporate data centers looking to simplify their operations and reduce TCO
- The QMH4062 is deployed as an accelerated iSCSI initiator HBA across Ethernet providing access to iSCSI target storage networks. Using Ethernet for storage access can eliminate more expensive, alternative storage fabrics.
- The iSCSI boot feature allows the c-Class ProLiant server to boot from a remote operating system image located on an Ethernet-based storage network simplifying system design and reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Server and application consolidation via virtualization is increasingly becoming a key means to reduce TCO. The QMH4062 iSCSI boot capability is certificated on VMware ESX Server 3.5 and ESXi 3.5 for both Microsoft Windows and Linux.
Company policies requiring or upgrading to IPv6 compliant networks
- IPv6 is the next generation IP protocol. As compared to IPv4, IPv6 advantages include additional network addressing from 32 bits to 128 bits, increase security, improved management, and more.
- The QMH4062 is an IPv6 compliant adapter offloading and processing IPv6 packet traffic from the c-Class enclosure. It provides an end-to-end IPv6 solution when using either a Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3120 (models 3120G and 3120X) with the IPv6 software option or the Ethernet Pass-Thru interconnect.
