| Q1. |
What are they key features of the QMH4062 iSCSI initiator adapter? |
| A1. |
The key features include:
- Fully integrated iSCSI adapter requiring no OS specific iSCSI initiator software
- Includes TCP/IP and iSCSI offloading along with iSCSI boot all supported on both Microsoft Windows and Linux
- iSCSI boot certified by VMware for ESX Server 3.5 and ESXi 3.5
- Provides offloading and processing of IPv6 packet traffic when connected to an IPv6 compliant network.
- Extensive list of HP and third party certified iSCSI targets

| Q2. |
What is meant by a fully integrated iSCSI adapter? |
| A2. |
Typical iSCSI initiator adapter implementations require operating system specific iSCSI initiator software. However, the QMH4062 is unique. No OS specific software is needed resulting it an integrated, single vendor solution.
|
|
| Q3. |
What versions of ESX Server have been certified by VMware for iSCSI boot? |
| A3. |
The QMH4062 iSCSI boot capability has been certified by VMware for ESX Server 3.5 and ESXi 3.5.
|
|
| Q4. |
Why is TCP/IP and iSCSI offloading important? |
| A4. |
TCP/IP and iSCSI offloading offloads I/O processing from the host server's CPU to the adapter. This improves overall performance by increasing adapter throughput and reducing CPU utilization.
|
|
| Q5. |
How many ports are the adapter and at what speed? |
| A5. |
The QMH4062 is a dual port Gigabit Ethernet adapter that provides 2000 Mbps full duplex bandwidth per port across the blade enclosure backplane.

| Deployment & Management |
| Q1. |
Is the QMH4062 IPv6 compliant? |
| A1. |
Yes. The QMH4062 provides offloading and processing of IPv6 packet traffic from the c-Class enclosure when using either a Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3120 (models 3120G and 3120X) with the IPv6 software option or the Ethernet Pass-Thru interconnect connected to an IPv6 compliant network.

|
|
| Q2. |
How is the QMH4062 set-up and managed? |
| A2. |
The QMH4062 includes the QLogic SANsurfer iSCSI adapter management and configuration interface. Sansurfer includes a graphical user interface (GUI) as well as a command line interface (CLI). These iSCSI initiator management interfaces are consistent across operating systems since no OS specific initiator software is required. SANsurfer provides QMH4062 configuration, management, statistics, monitoring, and diagnostic capabilities.
|
|
|
| Q3. |
How is SANsurfer installed and accessed? |
| A3. |
SANsurfer consists of two downloadable applications. One for the GUI and one for the CLI; one or both can be downloaded. They are then accessed the same as other applications typically via a shortcut icon.
SANsurfer does not need to be installed on the host server that contains the QMH4062 adapter. It is designed as a client server application. A single client can manage several adapters. The client can running a Windows, Linux, or Solaris operating system. Available on hp.com/support, see the QMH4062's SANsurfer management Readme file for more information.

| Q4. |
What iSCSI targets are certified on the QMH4062? |
| A4. |
iSCSI is a standardized method for transferring blocked-based data across Ethernet. Any iSCSI target adhering to this standard would be compatible. However, to ensure best-in-class operation, the QMH4062 pre-certification program provides extensive SAN interoperability and compatibility testing on a comprehensive list of HP and third-party iSCSI targets. HP pre-certified iSCSI targets include the HP StorageWorks All-in-One Storage Systems, the MSA2000i family, ProLiant Storage Server family, and the EVA iSCSI Connectivity Option.
