Q1. Where can I find detailed information on the BL465c specifications and supported options?
A1. The BL465c QuickSpecs include descriptions of all models of the ProLiant BL465c and an extensive list of supported options from HP.
Q2. What is the difference between the new HP ProLiant BL465c Server Blade and the HP ProLiant BL25p G2?
A2. The differences between the new ProLiant BL465c and the new BL25p G2 are:
  • Density - The BL465c is a half-height blade versus a full-height blade and offers all the same feature sets plus more. The BL465c takes up one-half of a slot within the new c-7000 enclosure. The BL25p G2 continues to take up 1 full slot within the p-class enclosure.
  • Design of Blade - The new BL465c does not include fans. The fans have been removed to provide space for other components within the blade. Also, to ensure maximum cooling optimization, the fans reside within the new c-Class 7000 enclosure.
  • Enclosure - The new BL465c blade is compatible and to be used only with the new c-7000 blade enclosure. The new c-class blades are not compatible with the p-class blade enclosure.
Q3. What options are available for the ProLiant BL465c Server Blade?
A3. The BL465c offers optional support for:
  • Additional memory
  • Additional processors
  • SAS or SATA hard disk drives
  • Two additional mezzanine cards - NIC, Fibre Channel HBA, or Infiniband HCA
  • 128MB Battery-Backed Write Cache (BBWC)

A1. iLO 2 Standard Blade Edition ships standard with every c-Class server blade. It is an enhanced, essential remote management software for the next generation ProLiant BL servers
Q2. What functionality is included in iLO 2 Standard Blade Edition?
A2. iLO 2 Standard Blade Edition includes HP Virtual KVM, Integrated Remote Console, Terminal Services Pass-through, Virtual Media (browser single server), Blade specific features - setup wizard, rack view, enclosure alerting, static IP bay configuration, Embedded System Health, Remote Serial Console, Virtual Power Button, Unit ID, Event logs, and SIM integration. Q3. Is there additional new blade-specific management software?
A3. Yes, there is additional blade specific management software is available. The optional iLO 2 Select Pack offers Lights-Out upgrades for ProLiant BL servers including security, new power management, scripted virtual media and more in the future. All with flexible licensing, including site licenses and an eight blade kit.

The iLO 2 Select Pack includes:
  • Power Regulator Reporting
  • Virtual Media (scripted multi-server)
  • Enterprise security including directory services and two-factor authentication

A1. The HP ProLiant BL465c is supported with a worldwide limited warranty featuring 3 years of parts, labor, and on-site service. In addition processors, memory, and hard drives are also covered by an HP prefailure warranty. Click for a complete description of the warranty.
