Key Benefits

With concentrated 1U compute power, integrated Lights-Out management, and essential fault tolerance, the DL360 G4p is optimized for space constrained installations, while providing enterprise performance and reliability at an affordable price.

»  Concentrated 1U compute power combines 64-bit capable Intel Xeon processors with the latest memory and I/O technology
»  Engineered with greater fault tolerance than ever before, now with redundant fans standard, online spare memory and optional redundant power
»  Embedded technologies and two PCI-X slots offer deployment versatility in a 1U form factor
»  Industry-leading management and configuration tools, offer superior remote administration, better life cycle management and resource utilization
»  Delivering best-run server infrastructure

Concentrated 1U compute power

Intel Xeon processors increase system performance and can handle a significantly greater workload because of higher processor frequencies, increased cache, faster system bus, Hyper-Threading, and EM64T technology. Up to 12GB memory capacity helps eliminate a common system bottleneck. ProLiant engineers have balanced the processor resources with high performance PC2-3200 DDR2 SDRAM which can be configured for 2:1 interleaving, PCI-X technology and 15,000 rpm drives, bringing more performance per U for web hosting, infrastructure, clustering and compute node environments.

DL360 G4p feature Benefit
Intel Xeon processors with 800 MHz front side bus Latest system performance and processing power drive a greater workload per processor.
2MB L2 Advanced Transfer Cache (G4p) On-chip processor cache increases 2 processor performance by providing a faster processor hit rate on data. The G4p is performance optimized with double the processor cache
Up to 12GB PC2-3200 DDR2 400 SDRAM (G4p); 2-way interleaving Memory intensive applications benefit from faster memory speeds and memory interleaving which reduces processor wait states.
PCI-X and optional PCI-Express technology A large, high-speed data bus greatly improves I/O bandwidth and data throughput

Optimum fault tolerance

Engineering excellence provides unsurpassed redundancy in a 1U form factor. The DL360 now offers redundant fans and optional redundant power supplies to meet demanding availability requirements of corporate data centers. Online spare memory, optional transportable battery backed write cache and ProLiant reliability guarantee optimum server uptime.

DL360 G4p feature Benefit
Fan redundancy, standard Allows for continued operation until maintenance can be scheduled to replace a failed fan assembly.
Hot plug power supply with optional redundancy Hot plug redundancy means no down time to repair failure; each power supply has its own power cord so redundant power to the rack can be supported.
Integrated Smart Array RAID controller (SCSI and SAS models); transportable battery-backed write cache Write cache improves disk performance; transportable battery-backup means cache can be moved to another server to recover data stored in the cache in the event of a system failure.
Embedded dual port NC7782 Gbit NIC High speed LAN capability without having to use a slot; NICs can be teamed or configured for redundancy.
Advanced ECC memory Corrects 4bit memory errors that occur within a single DRAM chip on the DIMM
Online spare memory System can be configured with a failover bank which is brought on line when single bit errors reach a critical threshold.

Deployment versatility in a 1U form factor

The virtual presence of embedded Lights-Out technology provides secure text based remote console and remote power on/off. Optional graphical remote console and virtual media functionality further enhances the feature set. High performance Smart Array and dual port Gbit NIC maximize I/O performance, while two PCI-X or optional PCI Express slots provide additional configuration options. SAS, SCSI and SATA models expand deployment options.

DL360 G4p feature Benefit
2 PCI-X expansion slots (1 full length, 1 half length); optional PCI Express 2 slots allows for configuration options, such as redundant HBA's or NIC's, for additional levels of uptime
Embedded Smart Array RAID controller (SCSI models); 128MB transportable battery-backed write cache option The RAID controller on the DL360 SCSI model comes embedded with the system to keep the PCI-X slots open for other uses.
SCSI, SAS, and SATA models Multiple drive technologies provide unique price/performance configuration options.
Integrated Lights Out management standard; optional Advance Pack Remote management eliminates the need to be physically present to address unexpected server issues.
Embedded dual port NC7782 Gbit NIC Embedded NICs support Wake On LAN (WOL) and PXE for additional management functionality.
Universal sliding rack rails standard; optional cable management arm Sliding rails ship standard, supporting HP and 3rd party racks; optional ambidextrous CMA holds cable bulk during in-rack servicing.

Industry-leading management and configuration tools

Conserve valuable IT resources by centralizing and simplifying management functions with ProLiant management tools. The ProLiant Essential Foundation Pack, standard with every DL360, provides essential tools for life cycle management. Functionality includes consistent and supportable installations, fault management, software version control, asset management, remote control, and interoperability with a service level management console like HP OpenView. The ProLiant Essentials Foundation Pack includes SmartStart, System Insight Manager, Remote Deploy Utility and ROM-based Setup Utility.

ProLiant Essentials Foundation Pack, shipped with every ProLiant server, enables you to quickly install and configure systems, proactively manage change and ensure continuous server operations.
  • RBSU (ROM-based Setup Utility) performs CPU, memory and boot disk diagnostics as well as configures initial hardware settings and prepares your ProLiant DL360 for OS installation.
  • Receive alerts from System Insight Manager before degraded systems fail with the Pre-Failure Warranty. Receive replacement of degraded disk, CPU and memory before they impact productivity.
  • SmartStart configures your hardware, loads optimized drivers and assists with software installation to achieve optimum reliability, performance and system uptime.
  • Remote Deploy Utility radically simplifies high-volume server deployments by including replication utilities that create and copy configuration and script files.
  • HP Power Regulator enables your ProLiant server with policy based power management to save on server power and cooling costs and improve average performance per watt. Static and dynamic power savings modes can be selected through any iLO Standard interface or RBSU allowing power reduction during periods of low application activity.
Expand your capabilities with optional tools like the ProLiant Essentials Rapid Deployment Value Pack that automates the process of deploying and provisioning your unique server software configurations. Find out more about why ProLiant servers are so reliable.
