Network hardware is less expensive and network staff is already knowledgeable of the TCP/IP infrastructure. |

How is the key licensed? |

The key is licensed on a NIC port based. When installed, the licensed seats are available to individual ports (or more specifically to the port's MAC address) on Multifunction adapters. As a port is enabled for iSCSI, the server automatically associates the port to an unused seat. If the port is disabled for iSCSI use, the seat is made available so that it can be used to enable a different port. |

Why is HP changing the license method from per server to per port? |

HP is changing the license method from per server to per port for the HP Insight software Accelerated iSCSI Pack. This is because HP believes that certain customers may want to control which port to use as their path to the remote storage especially since this same hardware is used for both ethernet networking and storage networking. |

What licensing options are available for Accelerated iSCSI Pack? |

HP PE Accelerated iSCSI Pack offers these three licensing options:
- Single license - enables functionality of a single NIC port
- Flexible-quantity license - to obtain an exact quantity of licenses (minimum number of 5) with a single option kit and a single license key
- Electronic Software Delivery License- enables E-delivery of flexible-quantity of licenses without restrictions on minimum quantity.

How does eSD work? |

Electronic Software Delivery (eSD) provides delivery of software without physical license key or media shipments. Upon ordering an HP software product, an email is sent to you and/or your HP-certified reseller with instructions to get the license keys and download links. |

Will physically-delivered software still be available? |

Yes. Some customers, channel partners, and distributors may have unique needs and circumstances which can only be satisfied by physical delivery of their software. HP has no plans currently to eliminate physically delivered software offerings in favor of their electronically-delivered equivalents.

HP ProLiant Essentails Accelerated iSCSI Pack comes with a 90-day limited warranty providing replacement of defective media (CD). In addition, HP offers a 90-day getting-started period for telephone support. In North America, call 1-800-652-6672 or 1-800-474-6836 (voice activated support).
