HP Insight Management products help you unlock your infrastructure's potential with HP's easy-to-use integrated server management software. HP Insight Management consists of several major components:

• HP iLO Management Engine is a complete set of embedded management features supporting the complete lifecycle of the server -- from initial deployment, through ongoing management, to service alerting and remote support. HP iLO Management Engine portfolio includes the HP Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) management processor, HP Agentless Management, HP Intelligent Provisioning,and HP Embedded Remote Support. HP iLO Management Engine comes standard on all HP ProLiant Gen8 Servers.



• HP Insight Control is essential server management for your IT environment that unlocks the management capabilities built into your HP ProLiant servers. Insight Control delivers powerful capabilities that enable you to proactively manage ProLiant server health and performance, deploy and migrate ProLiant servers quickly, optimize power and energy consumption, and control ProLiant servers from anywhere. HP Insight Control is a licensed product.



• HP Insight Online utilizes HP Insight Remote Support to provide you with customized secure access through an online personalized dashboard for monitoring your infrastructure from anywhere, at any time. Insight Online allows you to monitor device health, service events, and support status; and to manage your HP support contracts and warranties online.. HP Insight Online is provided free of charge to HP customers.

HP Insight Control is integrated with HP System Insight Manager (SIM). Specifics on the licensing for HP Insight Control and SIM are provided in the following tabs.

HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) forms the core of HP Converged Infrastructure Management, which centralizes management, control, and administration of the systems in IT infrastructures and data centers. Beyond its foundational capabilities, HP SIM is designed for use with Insight Control and other enterprise management systems. SIM is the unified and secure platform to centrally manage servers, storage, and other infrastructure devices across many operating system environments. HP SIM is the basis for health management for your IT environment.

When integrated with HP SIM, Insight Control can monitor your entire infrastructure, view both physical and virtual servers from one location, and be alerted to any potential failures or failures that are in progress. HP SIM is built to industry standards, supports agentless management of ProLiant Gen8 servers, and can be extended using custom applications and scripts to meet your needs.
