The leading-edge R5500 features unprecedented power density, delivering 4500 watts of true power in just a 4U design. The R5500 relies on a unique transformer-less technology, where Digital Signal Processor (DSP) controllers replace bulky transformers. Through this advanced technology, the R5500 offers a variety of benefits including increased power efficiency and smaller footprint with less weight. In addition, customers can increase runtime capabilities by adding optional Extended Runtime Modules (ERMs) to the HP R5500 UPS.
