Q1. Is there a license fee for HP Rack and Power Manager?
A1. No. This is a not-for-fee product that ships with UPS and the CMC.
Q2. What equipment does each software solution manage?
A2. It manages the following UPS as well as the CMC (Rack Environmental Monitoring Device):
Rack UPS's Tower UPS's
R5500XR T2200 XR
R12000 XR T1500 XR
R6000 T1000 XR
R3000 XR T700
R1500 XR  
Service and Support
Q1. Does this software replace legacy Compaq and HP software solutions?
A1. Yes. This software replaces the following products:
  • Compaq Power Management - CPM 1.8 and before (EOL 2Q03)
  • Compaq Onlinet Centro (EOL 2Q03)
  • Lansafe III
  • Onlinet
For customers who have standardized on any of these previous software solutions, they can still be found and downloaded from the HP website.

NOTE: These legacy products will no longer be updated.
Q2. Is training available? Where can I find it?
A2. Yes. Online documents and Web Based training tools are available at http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/power-protection/software/index.html
Configuration
Q1. What does "Enterprise Grade" mean?
A1. Managing more than 1 UPS and/or CMC or redundant UPS's from a single console
Q2. Are there other rack and power solutions if my application doesn't fit this description?
A2. No. These are now the only supported rack and power management solutions. A great deal of effort has been made to ensure that this software addresses customer deployment, usage and management requirements for rack and power management.
