Overview
Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2008 with Windows Server 2008 SP2 is an affordable server solution designed for businesses with 75 employees or fewer. Windows SBS 2008 with Windows Server 2008 SP2 is the latest small business solution from Microsoft designed to help small businesses operate at the same technology level as much larger organizations, but without the added costs and complexities of managing an intricate IT infrastructure.

 
What's new
SBS 2008 includes the latest versions of component technologies including Windows Server 2008 SP2, Exchange Server 2007, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (in the Premium edition), and Windows SharePoint® Services 3.0
  • Based on 64-bit technology
  • Streamlined deployment with new network-wide configuration, management and reporting capabilities
  • Enhanced security, backup and recovery capabilities
  • Improved remote access and streamlined collaboration through enhancements to Remote Web Workplace, integration with Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and new capabilities in Exchange Server 2007
  • Business application-ready with additional Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server on a separate server in Premium Edition

Windows SBS 2008 with Windows Server 2008 SP2 includes the following benefits:

  • SP2 introduces an improved power management policy that is up to 10% more efficient than the original in some configurations (both on the server and the desktop), and includes the ability to manage these settings via Group Policy
  • SP2 adds support for UTC timestamps to the ex FAT file system, enabling correct file synchronization across time zones  
  • SP2 adds the ability to natively record data on to Blu-Ray media
