A1. The SB40c QuickSpecs include descriptions of the StorageWorks SB40c and a list of supported options from HP.
Q2. What options are available for the StorageWorks SB40c storage blade?
A2. The SB40c supports HP Universal SFF hot-plug drives including:
  • 36GB, 72GB, and 146GB 10K SFF SAS hard drives
  • 36GB and 72GB 15K SFF SAS hard drives
  • 60GB and 120GB SFF SATA hard drives
Q3. What is the maximum storage capacity of the StorageWorks SB40c storage blade?
A3. Using 146GB 10K SFF SAS hard drives, the maximum capacity is 876GB.
Q4. What infrastructure components are needed to support the StorageWorks SB40c?

A5. No. The SB40c is designed for use with c-Class server blades.

Q1. What RAID levels are supported on the SB40c?
A1. The SB40c supports hardware RAID 0, 1, 1+0, 5, and 6 (ADG), using the onboard Smart Array P400.
Q2. Is Battery-Backed Write Cache supported?
A2. Yes. The SB40c comes standard with 256MB of battery-backed write cache for the SA-P400.
Q3. What is the Array Configuration Utility?
A3. The Array Configuration Utility (ACU) software makes it easy to configure and expand your disk drive arrays. This browser-based graphical tool is very intuitive: by using its Configuration Wizards, your storage array is setup and ready to use in minutes! Plus, the Array Configuration Utility is versatile: use it to configure your array controller, add additional disk drives to an existing configuration, or completely reconfigure your disk drive array.
