HP announced the release of HP Insight Dynamics - VSE 6.2 which provides several new enhancements:
HP announced HP Insight Dynamics – VSE 6.1 release, which provides initial support for the next-generation Integrity blade servers, specifically the BL8x0c i2 family of servers. The 6.1 release leverages the support of HP System Insight Manager (SIM) 6.1 to manage these new Integrity blades, and enables support of HP Insight Dynamics – VSE capabilities of Capacity Planning, Global Workload Management, and Virtualization Management (visualization). These capabilities are in addition to the previously available support of the new Integrity blades by HP Integrity Virtual Machines, HP-UX Workload Manager, and Insight Remote support
To reflect the evolved and common infrastructure management solutions across the HP Integrity and HP ProLiant platforms, HP announced the name change of the Virtual Server environment to "HP Insight Dynamics – VSE" for HP Integrity servers. In addition to the merged branding of Insight Dynamics, HP also announced version 6.0. Insight Dynamics – VSE 6.0 now includes the infrastructure orchestration capability.
Insight Dynamics – VSE infrastructure orchestration allows customers to set up a complete infrastructure environment ready for applications in minutes through automated activation of servers with storage and network connections. With infrastructure orchestration, customers can accelerate the design and delivery of infrastructure resources by creating service templates. These templates can then be started, stopped, and stored offline for re-use.
Customers can visually design a catalog of infrastructure service templates, including multi-tier, multi-node configurations that can be activated in minutes. Authorized users can provision infrastructure from pools of shared server and storage resources through a self-service portal which automates and streamlines the approval process for requested infrastructure.
In addition version 6.0 includes advanced consolidation reports for faster capacity planning and bench-mark based data to help improve capacity planning accuracy.
