This is an expandable small business network storage device with Spare Backup Workgroup offsite online backup, storage, file sharing, collaboration, and archival record retention services provided by Spare Backup. The HP StorageWorks Media Vault Pro allows you to easily back up and share data across your small business network. Spare Backup Workgroup provides enterprise-class offsite online backup, file sharing, collaboration, and archival record retention services for the IT-less small business. With the StorageWorks Media Vault Pro, HP provides a complimentary 2GB of offsite online storage. The HP StorageWorks Media Vault Pro delivers differentiable value for small businesses in three key areas:
- Protect – Simple backup software that can be setup to run weekly, daily, or continuously—as often as you need to backup files or full disk images locally or, with Spare Backup Workgroup, to securely store critical files offsite.
- Connect – easily manage and share documents across a small business network. With Spare Backup Workgroup, share files across the internet. Collaborate with partners and customers using Spare Backup’s Spare Room.
- Simplify – Get the benefit of enterprise-class online tools without any IT staff. Designed for setup in a few simple steps and leave running 24/7. Local and offsite backups run automatically and continuously.
The product is available with a 1 TB capacity (2 X 500GB drives) and can be expanded up to 1.2 terabytes of total capacity. |

With the HP StorageWorks Media Vault Pro, Spare Backup, Inc. provides a complimentary 2-user license for Spare Backup Workgroup and 2GB of offsite online. Subscriptions for additional space and/or user licenses may be purchased from Spare Backup, Inc. Through our alliance, Spare Backup offers offsite online backup combined with simple Workgroup administration (either local or web-based), collaboration, and archiving for a fraction of the price of competitive offerings. Packages start at $14.99/month or $149.99/year for up to 40GB and 2 users and are available for up to 1 TB and up to 25 users for $189.99/month or $1899/year.

HP recommends that files intended for remote access be placed in secure shared storage at Spare Backup Tier-3 data centers. This approach maintains the security of your onsite network while maintaining security to your offsite data in a solution that is simple to implement and use.
For the more technical user, remote access to the HP StorageWorks Media Vault can be implemented in a number of ways. A very enthusiastic user group for HP Media Vault products has created a Yahoo Group (groups.yahoo.com; search for HP Media Vault) where may technical documents are shared to support this and other advanced features of the HP StorageWorks Media Vault Pro. |

How is data secured when transmitted or when stored? |

Spare Backup uses the most advanced security measures. Spare Backup uses the same security standards to protect your data as those used by the Federal Government and banking institutions. All user data is encrypted before sending to Spare Backup’s secure data centers.
Spare Backup has not one, but three Tier 3 data centers. This means your backup has a backup.
