Overview

HP Serviceguard for Linux is a high availability clustering solution for HP Integrity, HP ProLiant and supported 3rd party x86 class servers running Red Hat or SUSE Linux. HP Serviceguard for Linux leverages the strength of HP's experience in the HA business, bringing best-in-class mission critical HP-UX technologies to Linux. The software provides critical applications the high availability that enterprise customers require for 24x7 business operations. It is designed to protect applications from a wide variety of software and hardware failures by monitoring the health of each server (node), quickly responding to failures of system processes, system memory, LAN media and adapters, or applications. HP Serviceguard for Linux (SGLX) increases service uptime, maintains data integrity, reduces planned and unplanned downtime, and protects against disasters and major site outages for physical and virtual servers in an industry-standard, open operating environment.

What's new

The HP Serviceguard for Linux A.11.18 portfolio has been restructured to enable comprehensive solution design options for direct and indirect sales through both value and volume channels. Customer demand for enterprise-class support of Linux high availability environments has also been addressed via bundled support. Specifically, the portfolio restructuring includes:
  • Creation of a new comprehensive portfolio which enables configuration of Serviceguard for Linux, SGeSAP/LX, Oracle Single Instance Database Toolkit and Extended Distance Cluster (XDC) on both HP Integrity and HP ProLiant servers.
  • One Year of 24 x 7 software support and updates will be included with all HP Serviceguard for Linux products for HP ProLiant and supported 3rd party x86 class servers. 3 year uplifts are also available. HP Serviceguard for Linux on Integrity will not include bundled support and should continue to be ordered separately on HP Integrity SGLX clusters.
